What was Churchill's ideology and how did it affect his and Great Britain's involvement in WWII. Specifically, how did Churchill direct the British people during this turbulent time?
Churchill was a conservative-turned-liberal in his earlier years of politics, eventually switching back to the conservative party when he was older. He saw politics almost as if they were an endless debate. Churchill was able to become Prime Minister of Great Britain twice, working hard toward social reform and a concern for the welfare of the less fortunate. During his second term as Prime Minister, he worked more to restore Anglo-American ties, maintain Britain's strong global influence, and speaking out on the greater issues of the nation. Churchill directed the British people throughout WWII through his energetic speeches that promoted the use of new weapons including airplanes and tanks, warned Britain and the rest of the world the dangers of Hitler's Nazi Germany, and expressed his opinions of domestic British policies.
